Lesson 3 - XHTML Tutorial – Body and Headers

Hello guys this is Tuts Tech author and welcome back to your third XHTML tutorial. So in this tutorial we did is we made a very basic website. It doesn't even have anything in the body or has is that the title “This is the title Steve”.

Body:

A website consists of two parts all websites. The “head” which is pretty much all the information that you don't see but the browser need such as the title, keywords for search engines all that good stuff.

The 2nd part of “body”. Now we didn't even add a body yet but body is the part where all the images, links, paragraphs all that stuff.

In order to create the body of your website what you need to do. Outside of your “head” but still inside the “HTML” given social space work first of all and go ahead and type the “body” tags.

Example:

<body>

</body>

Now anything we type in here is going appear in the body of our website. So let's go and type “I am in the body” and let’s go ahead and save this and when you save refresh it is should pop up so now we have some text in the body say’s “I am in the body”.

 

So we need to learn something else and I’m going to teach you one of the most basic concepts.

Header:

Whenever you write articles or you make titles for your website and that is how to create a header. What is a header? Header is totally different from the head. A header is pretty much the title think of like the header on the newspaper this is like on “The world is can end in 2012” is pretty much the title that you would put above paragraph. So let’s go ahead in will keep that “I am in the body” but above that it was still in your body written at something like I said code at header.

Header is basically a bold big title. Now by default become in 6 different sizes header 1, header 2, and header 3, 4, 5 and 6. Now header 1 is the biggest title. Header 2 a little bit smaller they keep getting smaller all the way down 6. In order to make a header go ahead and a new text type “h1” under less than and greater than. That's the key tag or keyword for the header. Now was go ahead and make the ending tag in one name this “h1”

Example:

<h1> </h1>

Now anything we type in between here is can be in the header so such a header is can be like a title us go ahead and make like “The world end in 2012” is a good title that might be in the newspapers in the upcoming month. So was go ahead and save this and refresh it and I’ll show you guys what a header is.

 

You can see that. It's different than the default text our webpage because not only is it bigger but it's ours also bold as well. So whenever you're making titles on your WebPages or you just want some text to stand down pop. It with header tags in its current pop.

Now let me go ahead and copy and paste h1 tags and text line. Let’s go ahead and change of this line to header 2. So what we have in our body right here is we have a big header. A header under it that slightly smaller and we have just a regular text so let me show you guys difference between header 1 and header 2. So go ahead and save this and refresh our webpage.

So now you can see the difference header makes in the different sizes you get from having h1, h2 and they keep getting smaller all the way down to h6. So anyways that's how you create basic header and also add basic text in your body so pretty simple I know. But we need this you know a good foundation before you can adding images and making cool games and stuff like that I mean the basics and eventually by then.
